One project currently in the\nspotlight is the Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT) network, designed to support\nmodern utility needs in an integrated manner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMulti Utility Tunnel (MUT) tunnel, the total length of MUT already\nconstructed is 72.6 km,\u201d said Acting Deputy for Facilities and\nInfrastructure of the IKN Authority, Danis H Sumadilaga, to CNBC\nIndonesia via a short message on Sunday (12\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The existence of this tunnel becomes a crucial element in the smart\ncity concept promoted by Ibu Kota Nusantara. With an underground system,\nvarious utility networks can be managed more neatly without disrupting\nthe city\u2019s aesthetics.<\/p>\n<p>Danis explained that the MUT is not just an ordinary tunnel but is\ndesigned to support efficient service distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe MUT network is located under the road sidewalks to serve the\nutility needs of buildings and areas along those roads,\u201d said Danis.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of this network is also focused on the government\ncore area, which will become the centre of national activities in the\nfuture. The project is part of the priorities for the initial\ndevelopment phase.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the completion target is being pursued according to the\nschedule set by the government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe MUT in the government core centre area, built through the state\nbudget, is targeted to be completed in 2028,\u201d said Danis.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to underground infrastructure, the construction of the\ngovernment area is also progressing in stages.
