        "content": "<p>Surabaya (ANTARA) - The Rector of Universitas Negeri Surabaya\n(Unesa), Prof Nurhasan, believes that the plan to close study programmes\n(prodi) by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, Science, and\nTechnology (Kemendiktisaintek) requires in-depth study because each\nprogramme has different conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA study is needed, because some programmes are already linked with\nindustry, while others are not. So, further study is still required to\ndiscuss this discourse,\u201d he said in Surabaya on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Nurhasan explained that some programmes are connected to industry\nneeds, while others are not fully relevant to the current developments\nin the job market.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the evaluation of programmes within Unesa is\ncontinuously conducted periodically through a special unit handling the\nopening or closure of programmes based on needs and relevance.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Unesa is also adjusting the curriculum to technological\ndevelopments, including incorporating issues of artificial intelligence\n(AI) into various study programmes.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, these steps are taken so that graduates are\nprepared to face the increasingly dynamic changes in the job market.<\/p>",
