Semarang \u2014 Arnendo (20), a student of the Social Anthropology\nprogram, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University (Undip), is\nalleged to have become a victim of assault and gang assault by around 30\nof his peers and seniors. As a result, he sustained multiple injuries\nacross his body.<\/p>\n
Arnendo, a fourth-semester student, is now represented by legal\ncounsel, Zainal Petir. Through his private Instagram account @zainalpetir_<\/span>, Zainal\nhas posted pictures showing Arnendo\u2019s physical condition. The video\nshows bruising on several parts of Arnendo\u2019s body, including a cigarette\nburn scar.<\/p>\n Zainal disclosed that Arnendo sustained injuries including a broken\nnose, a concussion, and impairment to the left optic nerve. He said the\nincident occurred on 15 November 2025.<\/p>\n At that time, Arnendo was invited by a friend named Adyan to a\nboarding house in Tembalang District, Semarang, to discuss organising a\ncampus music event. Arnendo went to the boarding house in the\nevening.<\/p>\n According to Zainal, on arrival Arnendo already saw many people\ngathered in the boarding house\u2019s yard. At that moment, they immediately\nforced Arnendo to admit to having harassed a female student identified\nby the initials U. Yet Arnendo denied the accusation. The alleged act of\nharassment involved Arnendo holding and pulling U\u2019s hand. Arnendo claims\nthat, when he pulled U\u2019s hand, he did not intend to harass; he only\nwanted to invite her to a nearby eatery.<\/p>\n \u2018So there was no harassment; the fact that Uca was being led around\non a crowded campus, the victim was not alone but with Wiryawan. The\nincident itself was not harassment but is thought that one of the\nperpetrators had feelings for Uca,\u2019 said Zainal Petir in a statement, on\nWednesday (4 March 2026).<\/p>\n Around 23:00 WIB, M (a sixth-semester Social Anthropology student)\nbegan beating Arnendo. \u2018After that, the students there, about 30 in\nnumber, began to surround the victim; it was terrifying. They kicked and\npunched him, in turns. Clothes were torn off, including jackets, jeans,\nand belts,\u2019 Zainal said.<\/p>",
