The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) brings\nboth convenience and alarming new threats. One of the most concerning is\nDeepfake AI. This technology is not only used for entertainment but is\nfrequently misused for criminal activities and electronic-based sexual\nviolence (KSBE).<\/p>\n<p>Deepfake is a media manipulation technology (images, audio, or video)\nthat uses deep learning algorithms to replace a person\u2019s face or voice\nwith another\u2019s in a highly realistic manner. The term is a combination\nof \u2018deep learning\u2019 and \u2018fake\u2019. Technically, AI studies thousands of\nphotos or videos of a target to map facial features, expressions, and\nmovements. As a result, perpetrators can create fake videos that appear\nto show victims performing actions they never actually did, such as\nappearing in pornographic content or making controversial\nstatements.<\/p>\n<p>A case involving a female student at Tanjungpura University (Untan)\nin Pontianak serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of this\ntechnology. The victim discovered that her private photos had been\nmanipulated using AI technology into indecent content by irresponsible\nparties. Rather than remaining silent due to shame, the student took\ndecisive steps that serve as an example for other cybercrime\nvictims.<\/p>\n<p>If you or someone close to you experiences something similar, here is\na mitigation guide:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><p>Can deepfakes be detected with the naked eye? The legal threats are significant,\nincluding imprisonment and fines amounting to billions of rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>Deepfake AI is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it demonstrates\ntechnological progress, but on the other, it serves as a weapon for\ncybercriminals. The courage shown by the Tanjungpura University student\nin facing this case proves that victims have the legal power to fight\nback and restore their dignity.<\/p>",
