UN public exhibition planned for Thursday<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The United Nations here will mark on Thursday
\nthe 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
\nwith a public exhibition, it was announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Resident Coordinator Ravi Rajan will commence the event at the
\nUnited Nations Information Center (UNIC) office in the Gedung
\nDewan Pers building on Jl. Kebun Sirih, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The exhibition will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the screening of
\na video-taped message from the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.<\/p>\n
Rajan will also announce the launching in Geneva of a website
\nconsisting of the Universal Declaration in 250 languages --
\nincluding in seven Indonesian local languages: Acehnese,
\nBalinese, Bugis dialect, Javanese, Madurese, Minangkabau and
\nSundanese.<\/p>\n

This year's theme for the commemoration of the Human Rights
\nDay worldwide is \"All Human Rights for All\".<\/p>\n
As part of the commemoration, the Thursday's event will also
\ninclude the inauguration of a photo exhibit of the archival
\nmaterial on the story of the UN and human rights.<\/p>\n
All UN offices in Indonesia will also make available
\ninformation regarding the UN to the public including
\npublications, articles, pictures, posters, and other information
\nmaterial on human rights.<\/p>\n
A documentary film titled For Everyone, Everywhere prepared by
\nthe Department of Public Information of the United Nations for
\nthis year's anniversary will also be screened.<\/p>\n
