        "content": "<p>UN extends its mission in Dili<\/p>\n<p>UNITED NATION: The United Nations Security Council voted<br>\nunanimously on Friday to renew for six months the mandate of the<br>\nUN Mission of Support in East Timor (UNMISET).<\/p>\n<p>Resolution 1543 extends the mandate of UNMISET for six months,<br>\nwith a view to a \"further and final\" six month extension taking<br>\nit to May 20, 2005.<\/p>\n<p>The mission will include up to 58 civilian advisors, 157<br>\ncivilian police advisors, 42 military liaison officers, 310<br>\ntroops and an International Response Unit of 125 people.<\/p>\n<p>UNMISET was set up under Security Council resolution 1480 on<br>\nMay 19, 2002, when the former Portuguese colony, occupied for 30<br>\nyears by Indonesia, gained independence under UN auspices.<\/p>\n<p>In a Security Council report in early May, UN Secretary<br>\nGeneral Kofi Annan recommended the UNMISET mandate be extended<br>\nfor a year. --AFP<\/p>",
