The achievement highlights the university's integrated approach to entrepreneurship education and nutrition science.

Students from the Nutrition Study Programme at the Faculty of
Medicine and Health, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (FKK UMJ),
Mochamad Shandy Akbar and Adhitya Mahdi Nugroho, brought their
innovative culinary product Mabento Splash to pass curation as an
official tenant at the Pesta Rakyat event. The product was presented at
the event held in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Monday (17/8/2026).

The Ministry of MSMEs’ curation team assessed participants on several
aspects, including quality and taste, hygiene, food safety, packaging
aesthetics and packaging feasibility. Mabento Splash successfully met
the curation process with a butterfly pea drink featuring lemongrass
aroma and a refreshing lemon flavour.

Dr Endang Rudiatin, M.Si, the lecturer for the Entrepreneurship
course, appreciated the achievement of Shandy and Adhitya. According to
her, this accomplishment demonstrates the application of
entrepreneurship learning integrated with nutrition science. “The
success of Shandy and Adhitya in entering the Pesta Rakyat Monas
reflects UMJ’s commitment to fostering a job creator climate,” said
Endang in a statement on Wednesday (19/8/2026).

She explained that the entrepreneurship training from UMJ combined
with nutrition science from FKK is capable of producing products with
market competitiveness. “The entrepreneurship material integrated with
nutrition science from FKK has proven capable of producing products that
are not only delicious and healthy but also highly competitive in the
real market,” she continued.

Shandy said that participating in the Pesta Rakyat Monas was a
challenge for him and Adhitya. Both needed to ensure Mabento Splash met
the hygiene standards of the Ministry of MSMEs while also preparing
products in large quantities. “Mabento Splash had to comply with the
hygiene requirements from the Ministry of MSMEs. In addition, we also
had to prepare 500 products, so the production process was quite
exhausting in terms of energy and time,” he stated.

On the other hand, Shandy considered the activity a memorable
experience. He also appreciated the opportunity to work with Adhitya and
receive positive feedback while developing the business. “This activity
was very memorable because I worked on it with Adhitya, a classmate from
the same study programme. We also received many positive comments from
Ibu Endang as well as the opportunity to directly develop our business
from ISMEA,” he said.

During the Pesta Rakyat, the Mabento Splash booth received a warm
welcome from Jakarta residents, festival visitors and the organisers.
The presence in the Monas area also provided Shandy and Adhitya with
experience in business operational management, direct marketing
strategies and consumer network expansion.

Previously, in July 2026, Shandy and Adhitya won first place at the
national level in the ready-to-eat culinary competition Studentpreneur
Bootcamp in Malang. The event was organised by MCEBI (Muhammadiyah
Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator).

UMJ is committed to continuing to support and facilitate student
entrepreneurship innovation programmes across various faculties. These
efforts are directed towards ensuring student innovations can develop
sustainably and provide positive economic impact for the wider
community.
",
