The Badung Transportation Agency has implemented a one-month traffic engineering trial in the Uluwatu area of Bali to alleviate chronic congestion. The trial involves specific road closures and directional restrictions during peak hours, with officials set to evaluate the impact after 14 days.

A trial for traffic engineering has officially commenced in the
Uluwatu area, South Kuta, Badung, Bali, starting today, Tuesday
(2/6/2026). Several vehicle access points are being restricted or
prohibited during peak hours to alleviate the chronic congestion
frequently reported by motorists.

The Badung Transportation Agency (Dishub) is implementing this
traffic engineering scheme for one month at several congestion-prone
points, particularly in the Jalan Toya Ning and Belimbing Sari areas.
The flow restrictions are in effect daily from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
WITA.

Motorists must now take detours due to turn prohibitions and access
restrictions at several intersections. The specific points of the
traffic engineering implementation are as follows:

Traffic Restriction Points:

Jalan Uluwatu to Jalan Toya Ning II: Drivers from the direction
of Jalan Uluwatu are prohibited from turning directly towards Jalan Toya
Ning II.

Jalan Toya Ning III to Jalan Raya Uluwatu: Vehicles from the
direction of Jalan Toya Ning III are prohibited from turning right when
entering Jalan Raya Uluwatu.

Baler Setra Road - Belimbing Sari Road Intersection: Specifically
for four-wheeled vehicles or larger, in addition to motorcycles,
movement towards the west towards Jalan Uluwatu is prohibited.

Outside the hours of 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM WITA, traffic flow will
return to normal.

The Head of the Badung Transportation Agency, AA Gde Ngurah Rahmadi,
stated that several supporting facilities have been installed to assist
the implementation of the traffic engineering, including prohibition
signs, alternative route guidance boards, and traffic cones or
delineators at various points. Officers have also been deployed in the
field to assist with traffic management and provide information to the
public.

“We will conduct an evaluation at the earliest 14 days after
implementation. The evaluation will be carried out if adjustments to the
implemented traffic engineering pattern are required,” explained
Rahmadi.

The Badung Transportation Agency urges the public to obey traffic
signs, follow the directions of officers in the field, and use the
provided alternative routes. “Participation and compliance are key to
the success of this traffic engineering. This is to ensure traffic that
is safe, orderly, and, of course, smooth, as we all desire in Badung,”
he emphasised.
",
