        "content": "<p>Beyond expanding international perspectives, the programme is\nexpected to serve as a platform for cultural exchange and to boost ULM\nstudents\u2019 confidence in securing international scholarships,\nparticularly in Japan. Banjarmasin (ANTARA) \u2013 Lambung Mangkurat\nUniversity (ULM), an accredited \u2018Excellent\u2019 public university, has sent\n18 students to participate in an international student mobility or\nKuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) programme in Japan. \u2018ULM students will\nundertake a series of KKN activities coordinated by Kitakyushu\nUniversity in Japan,\u2019 said ULM\u2019s Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Public\nRelations, and Information Systems, Dr Yusuf Azis, in Banjarmasin on\nMonday. He explained the programme follows international cooperation\nbetween ULM and Kitakyushu University, previously formalised by a\nMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by ULM Rector Prof Ahmad Alim\nBachri and Kitakyushu University representatives. A subsequent\nPartnership Agreement (PKS) between faculties and laboratories was\nsigned to strengthen academic collaboration between ULM and Kitakyushu\nUniversity, a leading public university in Kyushu with a strong focus on\nenvironmental and sustainability studies. ULM students will participate\nin the international KKN programme in Japan for 10 days from 31 May to 9\nJune 2026. Participants come from various faculties: Faculty of\nMathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Agriculture, Engineering,\nForestry, Medicine and Health Sciences, Social and Political Sciences\n(FISIP), Economics and Business, and Faculty of Teacher Training and\nEducation (FKIP). MKBT (Mobility of Integrated Learning Activities)\nChairperson Dr Indira Fitriliyani explained Kitakyushu University was\nchosen for its alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\nparticularly in environmental management. Kitakyushu is renowned for its\nzero-waste management system, expected to serve as a model and open\nopportunities for further collaboration on sustainable environmental\nmanagement. \u2018This is our effort to find examples and future cooperation\nfor zero-waste management at ULM,\u2019 she said. Dr Indira added that the\nselection process began in late 2025 through an English language course\nprogramme. After obtaining certification, students will proceed to\nregistration in February 2026 and interviews in March 2026. \u2018Japan\u2019s KKN\nis our effort to make ULM impactful not just regionally but\ninternationally,\u2019 she added.<\/p>",
