The attack also included a\nwave of unmanned aerial vehicles targeting the Moscow region. According\nto local authorities, this was one of the largest attacks the Russian\ncapital has faced throughout 2026. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said\nRussian air defence forces shot down dozens of drones flying towards the\ncapital since the morning. Based on official data provided by Sobyanin,\n60 Ukrainian drones were intercepted before reaching the Moscow region.\nThis number places the latest attack as one of the largest drone\noperations directed at the Russian capital in recent months. Previously,\nthe largest attack occurred on 17 May, when Russian authorities claimed\nto have destroyed 81 drones heading for Moscow.
