Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ukraine\u2019s Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires Ad Interim in Jakarta,\nYevhenia Shynkarenko, stated that Ukraine wishes for peace to be\nrealised swiftly amid the ongoing war with Russia.<\/p>\n
In an interview following the opening of the photo exhibition \u201cFour\nYears of Resilience\u201d commemorating four years since Russia\u2019s invasion on\nMonday (23\/2), she said US President Donald Trump had made various\nefforts to end the war, although his focus has now shifted to conflicts\nin the Middle East.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the support of the United States, we have conducted several\nrounds of negotiations, but our message is that it is not Ukraine that\nneeds to be pushed towards peace,\u201d Shynkarenko said.<\/p>\n
She affirmed that the Ukrainian people and government have\ndemonstrated their commitment to achieving peace.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only country that needs to be pushed towards that, not only by\nthe United States but also by the entire international community, is\nRussia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, the European Union Ambassador to Indonesia,\nDenis Chaibi, expressed appreciation for the various efforts towards\npeace.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are regularly in contact with our Ukrainian and American partners\nand provide support wherever possible,\u201d he said, adding that they are\nfollowing the talks closely.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the British Ambassador to Indonesia, Dominic Jermey,\nstated that Russia would not win the war.<\/p>\n
He said that by 2025, nearly half a million young Russians had been\nkilled and territorial gains amounted to less than one per cent of\nUkrainian territory.<\/p>\n
