UKI clarifies<\/p>\n

The Information Management Team of the Indonesian Christian
\nUniversity (UKI) deems it necessary to clarify a news report in
\nThe Jakarta Post of Dec. 31, 1998, concerning incidents
\noccurring on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, 1998, at the UKI campus in
\nCawang and its surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

1. The Senayan and Cawang incidents, which occurred on Dec.
\n17, 1998, in which scores of students were wounded by a group of
\nmembers of security apparatuses\/forces, and another incident on
\nDec. 18, 1998, in which Armed Forces members suffered violent
\nacts committed by a group of people claiming to be students, were
\nthe continuation of a series of incidents occurring earlier.<\/p>\n

2. These incidents involved a group of students hailing from
\nvarious universities, namely As'syafiah University, Sahid
\nUniversity, Gunadarma University, Mpu Tantular University,
\nBorobudur University, STEI Gidion, STEI Nusantara, STMIK, APP,
\nABA\/ABI, AK.Tek. Sapta Taruna, AMIK-BSI, IISIP, ISTN, UKI and AP-
\nYUKI.<\/p>\n
