        "content": "<p>UK, RI start youth exchange program<\/p>\n<p>KEDIRI, East Java: Nine pairs of British and Indonesian youths<br>\nhave started a three-month volunteer service in Kediri, East<br>\nJava, under the World Youth Millennium Award (WYMA).<\/p>\n<p>The pairs, each comprising a British participant and an<br>\nIndonesian counterpart, will as of this week be divided. Four<br>\npairs are assigned in the city of Kediri while the five others<br>\nwill be stationed in Pare, Kediri regency.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kediri regency spokesman Zainal Machsun, the<br>\nprogram, a project of the Indonesian Scout Movement and the<br>\nBritish Council aims at promoting bilateral ties in social,<br>\ncultural and youth affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Financed by a British non-governmental organization, the<br>\nparticipants will stay with several \"foster\" families while<br>\nfollowing their daily activities without accommodation charges.<\/p>\n<p>The youth volunteers will be engaged in various practical jobs<br>\nin extraordinary schools for the disabled, orphanages, job<br>\ntraining centers, foreign language courses and paddy production<br>\nareas. --Antara<\/p>",
