UK offers scholarship<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian citizens are invited to take part in
\na scholarship program sponsored by the British government and a
\nbrewing company to study for a Master's degree at the University
\nof Leeds in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
Indria from PT Gitaswara Indonesia, sole distributors of the
\nGuiness brewing products, announced on Saturday that the
\nsuccessful candidate will be able to choose one of eight
\nalternative courses of study.<\/p>\n
They include communication studies, development studies,
\neconomic, finance, industrial and labor studies, modern
\ninternational studies, politics of international resources and
\ndevelopment and sociology, Indria said.<\/p>\n
The one-year degree course will start in September next year.<\/p>\n
\"We believe we have a responsibility to the communities and
\ncountries in which our business operates,\" said Brendan O'Neil,
\nmanaging director of Guiness Brewing Worldwide.<\/p>\n
According to Indria, this is the sixth scholarship sponsored
\njointly by UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Guiness for
