        "content": "<p>UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh has proposed an increase in the recipient\nquota and a rise in the living cost component of the Kartu Indonesia\nPintar (KIP) Kuliah programme to the Ministry of National Development\nPlanning (Bappenas).<\/p>\n<p>Wakil Rektor III of UIN Ar-Raniry, Prof Mursyid Djawas, stated that\nthe KIP Kuliah programme has made a significant contribution to\nexpanding access to higher education for students from underprivileged\nfamilies at the university. The proposal was submitted during a\nmonitoring and evaluation session on the implementation of KIP Kuliah\nheld at the university\u2019s rectorate meeting room in Banda Aceh.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that between 2020 and 2025, a total of 2,805 students\nreceived the scholarship. Currently active recipients include 400\nstudents from the 2022 cohort, 600 from 2023, 550 from 2024, and 400\nfrom 2025. According to Prof Mursyid, the number of recipients is still\nnot proportional to the high number of eligible students in need. \u2018We\nhope the recipient quota can be increased so that more students can\nbenefit from this programme,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>The university believes the amount of financial assistance needs to\nbe adjusted to reflect the real costs students face during their\nstudies. UIN Ar-Raniry also proposed that children of low-income civil\nservants (ASN), military personnel, and police officers should continue\nto have access to KIP Kuliah, provided they meet the government\u2019s\neconomic criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Mursyid added that an increase in the number of recipients must\nbe accompanied by strengthened coaching through language proficiency\nprogrammes, soft skill development, and continuous academic monitoring.\nThis is to ensure scholarship recipients can complete their studies on\ntime and remain competitive after graduation.<\/p>",
