        "content": "<p>Universitas Indonesia (UI) participated in the Asian Universities\nAlliance (AUA) Summit 2026, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 1 to 3 June\n2026, to actively promote the advancement of higher education across\nAsia. UI was represented by the Head of the Risk Management and\nCompliance Agency, Prof.\u00a0Rizal Edy Halim, and the Director of\nInternational Education, Dr Fadhilah Muslim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a founding member of the AUA since 2\ub29417 and the only member from\nIndonesia, UI continues to play an active role in driving the progress\nof higher education in Asia,\u201d stated Rizal Edy Halim in a statement on\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that participation in the AUA Summit 2026 serves as a\nstrategic opportunity for UI to contribute to the formulation of\nregional higher education policies, strengthen partnerships with leading\nAsian universities, and adopt best practices in institutional governance\nand innovation. UI\u2019s involvement in the AUA is intended not only to\nexpand international networks but also to bolster Indonesia\u2019s\ncontribution to building the future of Asian higher education.<\/p>\n<p>UI believes that through collaboration with prominent Asian\nuniversities, it can deliver innovation, adaptive governance, and\npartnerships that create a tangible impact on society. \u201cWe believe that\nUI can address global challenges through cross-border cooperation based\non the spirit of mutual learning and growing together,\u201d said\nProf.\u00a0Rizal.<\/p>\n<p>The event, attended by delegates from 15 AUA member universities\nacross various Asian nations, was organised by Nazarbayev University and\nUnited Arab Emirates University (UAEU), alongside the AUA secretariat\nfrom Tsinghua University.<\/p>\n<p>UI\u2019s participation in this prestigious forum reflects the\ninstitution\u2019s commitment to strengthening international cooperation\nnetworks within the Asian region. The AUA Summit 2026 programme included\nWorking Group Meetings, the AUA Board Meeting, and the AUA Presidents\nForum 2026. During the Board Meeting held on 2 June 2026, the primary\nagenda included a review of the AUA programme for the 2023-2026 period,\nthe handover of the AUA Presidency and Executive Presidency, and\ndiscussions on the AUA framework for the 2026-2029 period.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the AUA Presidents Forum 2026 was held under the theme\n\u201cShaping Future Universities: Industry Engagement and Governance\nInnovation,\u201d focusing discussions on two strategic issues: the\ntransformation of university governance models and the strengthening of\ncollaboration between universities and industry within higher\neducation.<\/p>",
