        "content": "<p>Depok, VIVA \u2013 The case of alleged sexual harassment occurring within\na student conversation group at the Faculty of Law, University of\nIndonesia (FH UI) continues to trigger widespread repercussions in the\ncampus environment.<\/p>\n<p>One of the consequences that has emerged is the resignation of the\nChair of the Student Representative Council (BPM) FH UI, Javier\nHattaguna Hartawan, from his position.<\/p>\n<p>This decision was announced through a post on the official Instagram\naccount of BPM FH UI. In his written statement, Javier emphasised that\nthe step taken to step down is a form of moral responsibility for the\ndeveloping situation in the faculty environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI, Javier Hattaguna Hartawan, as Chair of the Student Representative\nCouncil of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (BPM FH UI) for\n2026, hereby declare my resignation from my position as chair of BPM FH\nUI for 2026,\u201d said Javier, quoting the post on Instagram <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"bpmfhui\">@bpmfhui<\/span>, Wednesday, 15\nApril 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being a form of personal responsibility, Javier stated\nthat his resignation also aims to maintain organisational stability so\nthat it can continue to operate well amid the sensitive situation.<\/p>\n<p>He hopes that BPM FH UI can still carry out its functions in\naccordance with the basic values of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that BPM FH UI can operate optimally in accordance with the\nvalues, ethics, integrity, and the basic guidelines of the Family\nAssociation of FH UI Students,\u201d said Javier.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, he also expressed an apology to the entire\nacademic community for the commotion that has occurred and appreciated\nthe trust given during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI convey my apologies to all parties, especially the large family of\nthe Indonesian Faculty of Law, if during carrying out this mandate there\nare things that are less pleasing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Procedurally, the position of BPM FH UI chair will next be filled by\nthe deputy chair.
