        "content": "<p>Universitas Indonesia (UI) is exploring collaboration with Harbin\nInstitute of Technology (HIT), China, in the fields of education,\nresearch, and technology development as a strategic step to enhance\ngraduate competitiveness while expanding the global network of higher\neducation institutions.<\/p>\n<p>UI\u2019s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Mahmud Sudibandriyo, in Depok\non Thursday, reaffirmed UI\u2019s commitment to making international\ncooperation a top priority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are open to developing cooperation in various forms, ranging from\nstudent and staff exchanges to double degree programmes and joint\nresearch. UI also has a digital education platform that can be developed\ntogether with international partners,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, HIT\u2019s Vice President Prof.\u00a0Qinyu Zhang emphasised the\nimportance of international collaboration in strengthening cultural\nexchanges and scientific development, particularly in engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties also discussed the development of digital education\nprogrammes through a digital academy initiative based in Shenzhen, which\nincludes master\u2019s and doctoral programmes in technology, as well as\nAI-based training.<\/p>\n<p>This programme also opens opportunities for developing\nmicro-credentials and short-term certifications as part of enhancing\nhuman resource capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Dean of UI\u2019s Faculty of Engineering (FTUI) Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan\nstated that his faculty has various international programmes, including\ninternational undergraduate classes, double degree programmes, and joint\ndegrees that have potential to be developed with partners in China.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties also discussed opportunities for organising\ninternational joint workshops that would allow students to gain direct\nacademic and industry experience, while strengthening cross-cultural\nunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is expected to add value through academic credit\nrecognition for participants.<\/p>\n<p>As a follow-up, UI and HIT will discuss more technical aspects to\nformulate more concrete forms of cooperation, including the possibility\nof drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).<\/p>",
