UGM ranked first in ASEAN for QA system<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: The Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has been ranked
\nfirst in quality assurance (QA) system among 17 universities
\ngrouped in the ASEAN-European University Network Program (AUNP).<\/p>\n
UGM's quality assurance office head Toni Atyanto Dharoko
\nannounced here on Tuesday that first place was shared together
\nwith Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.<\/p>\n
"Our high score comes mostly from three factors: the
\nharmonization of internal and external quality assurance systems,
\nthe ASEAN standard content, and the fact that the QA system has
\nbeen implemented in all study programs in UGM," he explained.<\/p>\n
The Yogyakarta-based university began implementing the quality
\nassurance system a year ago.<\/p>\n
An evaluation of the QA system's implementation in UGM was
\nconducted in July until August by Dutch evaluator Ton
\nVrorijenstion, an expert on European QA systems.<\/p>\n
"The result was announced in a meeting held in Manila at the
\nend of last month," Toni said. --JP<\/p>",
