The Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in\nYogyakarta emphasises the importance of cross-border collaboration in\naddressing global challenges in the livestock sector and food\nsecurity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIssues of food security, climate change, and the sustainability of\nlivestock systems cannot be resolved in isolation; strong global\ncollaboration is required,\u201d said Dean of the UGM Faculty of Animal\nScience, Prof Budi Guntoro, in his statement in Yogyakarta on\nFriday.<\/p>\n
According to him, this cross-border collaboration is embodied through\nthe forum of The 7th International Joint Graduate Seminar (IJGS),\norganised by the UGM Faculty of Animal Science at Maejo University in\nThailand recently.<\/p>\n
The event serves as an international academic forum for postgraduate\nstudents, lecturers, and researchers to share research results while\nstrengthening cross-border scientific networks.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd IJGS becomes one of the important bridges for that,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Through the organisation of IJGS, the UGM Faculty of Animal Science\nreaffirms its commitment to continuously promoting the exchange of\nknowledge, research innovation, and the development of superior human\nresources in the livestock field.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe IJGS event is expected to become a strong foundation for the\nemergence of sustainable research collaborations as well as tangible\ncontributions to global food and agriculture development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
IJGS is an annual scientific forum initiated by the UGM Faculty of\nAnimal Science as part of its commitment to strengthening cooperation\nwith various universities in ASEAN countries.<\/p>\n
The holding of the 7th IJGS marks the continuity of academic\ncooperation between the UGM Faculty of Animal Science and Maejo\nUniversity, which has been established through various collaborative\nprogrammes, such as student and lecturer exchanges, joint research, and\ninternational scientific publications.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough IJGS, we want to provide space for postgraduate students to\nconfidently participate in international forums, while encouraging the\nbirth of research collaborations that have a real impact on the\ndevelopment of sustainable livestock and agriculture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In its implementation, the 7th IJGS has several objectives, including\nproviding an international scientific forum for postgraduate students,\nenhancing academic capacity and scientific communication skills, and\nencouraging cross-border research collaborations, particularly in the\nASEAN region.<\/p>\n
