        "content": "<p>UGM alumni sells subsidized meals<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: The Gadjah Mada University (UGM) alumni<br>\nassociation is selling low-cost lunches to the public at a price<br>\nof just Rp 400.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, the association's secretariat on Jl.<br>\nPancasila, Bulaksumur, is always crowded at noon with a long line<br>\nof people waiting to purchase the meals.<\/p>\n<p>Those waiting in line come from a variety of backgrounds --<br>\nfrom students to becak (rickshaw) drivers.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, however, the association can only afford to<br>\nprovide 200 meals a day.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Utari Koentowibisono, the project's organizer, said the<br>\nassociation subsidized the meals at a cost of Rp 350 each.<\/p>\n<p>\"So each day we have to cover a financial loss of about Rp<br>\n70,000,\" she explained. The subsidy comes from funds donated by<br>\nassociation members.<\/p>\n<p>She said the association had enough money to subsidize the<br>\nlow-cost lunches for another two months, indicating they had Rp<br>\n4.05 million in donations still available for the project.
