        "content": "<p>Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) has demonstrated its\ncommitment as a Creative Digital Campus through a notable research\nachievement. A team of UBSI lecturers has secured a Competitive Grant\n(CG) under the Integrated Corporation of Agricultural Resource\nEmpowerment (ICARE) West Java 2026 partnership programme, through\nresearch that integrates digital technology and biotechnology to improve\npotato seed breeding quality.<\/p>\n<p>The research proposal, titled \u2018Transformation of Potato Seed Breeding\nThrough Integration of Ex-Vitro Bioreactor Technology and Smart\nAgrologistics System of I-CARE Garut Corporation\u2019, is led by Taufik\nBaidawi as Principal Investigator and Head of the Software Engineering\n(RPL) Study Programme at UBSI.<\/p>\n<p>In its implementation, Taufik leads a research team comprising Jennie\nSundari, Mochammad Nandi Susila, Sifa Fauziah, Kresna Ramanda, Sulaeman\nHadi Sukmana, Musriatun Napiah, and Endang Wahyudi. The research\ninvolves collaboration with researchers from the National Research and\nInnovation Agency (BRIN), BRMP West Java, BBRMP Horticulture, PT Horti\nAgro Makro (CHAMP), and the Sukaresmi Mulus Rahayu Cooperative as an\nimplementation partner.<\/p>\n<p>The ICARE West Java Competitive Grant programme is a strategic\nprogramme of the Ministry of Agriculture supported by the Agency for\nAgricultural Instruments Standardisation and Modernisation (BRMP)\ntogether with the World Bank. Through this competitive funding scheme,\nresearchers are encouraged to produce innovations that can improve\nproductivity, efficiency, and competitiveness in Indonesia\u2019s\nagricultural sector.<\/p>\n<p>In the research, the UBSI lecturer team is developing a potato seed\nbreeding transformation model through the integration of ex-vitro\nbioreactor technology with a smart agrologistics system. This approach\nis expected to improve seed quality, accelerate distribution processes,\nstrengthen supply chain transparency, and support the formation of a\nmodern, independent, and competitive farmer corporation model.<\/p>\n<p>Taufik, the research team leader and Head of the Software Engineering\nStudy Programme at UBSI, said the success is the result of synergy among\nvarious parties in delivering innovations capable of addressing future\nagricultural sector challenges. According to him, the future\ntransformation of agriculture requires technological input from upstream\nto downstream as well as close collaboration between academics, research\ninstitutions, industry, and farmer groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Through the combination of ex-vitro seed breeding biotechnology with\nsmart agrologistics, this research is designed to address the challenges\nof efficiency, productivity, and transparency in potato seed\ndistribution, while realising the I-CARE Garut farmer corporation model\nthat is independent and highly competitive. We greatly appreciate the\ntrust from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency for Agricultural\nInstruments Standardisation and Modernisation (BRMP), and the World Bank\nto realise this modernisation,\u2019 Taufik said in a press release received\non Thursday (6\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the achievement is not only a milestone for the\nUBSI research team but also evidence that collaboration between\nuniversities, research institutions, government, industry, and farmer\ngroups can produce innovations that deliver tangible benefits for\nnational agricultural development.<\/p>\n<p>The success in securing the ICARE West Java 2026 Competitive Grant\nfurther reinforces UBSI\u2019s commitment to building a collaborative,\ninnovative, and impactful research culture.
