Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) has welcomed 4,94able0 new students\nfrom various regions across Indonesia and abroad for the 2026\/2027\nacademic year. The welcoming of these new students was conducted through\nthe Campus Introduction Programme (P2K), which serves as the initial\ngateway for students to familiarise themselves with the academic\nenvironment and student life at UAD.<\/p>\n
UAD Rector, Prof.\u00a0Muchlas, stated that P2K is a momentum for new\nstudents to understand university learning patterns, student activities,\nand various programmes designed to develop leadership and soft skills.\nFollowing P2K, students will also participate in the Masa Ta\u2019aruf\n(Masta) period and other activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the leadership of Ahmad Dahlan University, I say\nwelcome. Welcome to the Dahlan Muda campus, Ahmad Dahlan University, to\nundertake your studies and education for approximately 3.5 to 4 years,\u201d\nsaid Muchlas during his opening remarks at the P2K launch held at the\nJogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday (15\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
Muchlas advised new students to participate in the entire orientation\nseries seriously, without neglecting their health. He also noted that\nP2K is an opportunity for students to explore their interests and\ntalents through various activities aligned with their passions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are many student organisations that you can join, which will\nlater support the formation of our personality and character through\nvarious student activities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr Gatot\nSugihards, reported that the number of new students admitted this year\nreached 4,940. However, not all new students participate in the P2K\nsimultaneously.<\/p>\n
Over approximately one week, new students will be introduced to the\ngeneral UAD environment. Subsequently, they will learn about their\nrespective faculties, study programmes, and available student\norganisations. Gatot noted that UAD currently comprises 11 faculties and\n60 study programmes. In addition to academic activities, students can\nenhance their experience and skills through 122 student\norganisations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis campus is a training ground for our new students. While you are\nhere, please explore your abilities through positive activities,\u201d said\nGatot.<\/p>\n
Gatot expressed his hope that new students would join at least one\nstudent organisation to hone their leadership skills and gain learning\nexperiences outside the classroom. He aims for UAD graduates to possess\nnot only academic competence but also the necessary assets for the\nfuture workforce.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe always emphasise to our students that when they leave this\ncampus, they must possess at least three assets: intellectual capital,\nsocial capital, and finally, moral capital,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Gatot mentioned that this year\u2019s UAD students originate\nfrom various regions across Indonesia. The university also accepts\ninternational students, including those from China, Korea, and several\nother countries. These international students are spread across various\nstudy programmes, such as chemical engineering, Indonesian literature,\nEnglish literature, economics, and management.<\/p>\n
According to Gatot, a student from Pattani, Thailand, was\nparticularly interested in studying at UAD due to the Al-Islam and\nKemuhammadiyahan curriculum. Meanwhile, many students from China arrive\nthrough UAD\u2019s collaborations with several universities in China. In\naddition to the diversity of student origins, UAD also highlights the\nunique features of its study programmes. One such example is the Faculty\nof Medicine, which focuses on disaster medicine. Interest in the Faculty\nof Medicine was noted to be quite high, though intake remains limited in\naccordance with ministerial and consortium regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Ahmad Dahlan University, our Faculty of Medicine has a specific\nfocus on disaster medicine. Therefore, graduates from UAD, particularly\nfrom the Faculty of Medicine, will possess the specialised competence\nrequired for disaster management,\u201d said Gatot.<\/p>\n
One new medical student, Michi Radies Pratama, from Musi Banyuasin\nRegency, South Sumatra, admitted he chose UAD because of the disaster\nmedicine programme. Michi, who aspires to become a forensic specialist,\nhopes that through his education at UAD, he can develop skills that are\nbeneficial to society.<\/p>\n
\u201cI chose UAD\u2019s Faculty of Medicine because it has a disaster\nmanagement programme that involves direct community engagement. In my\nhome region in South Sumatra, issues such as forest and land fires and\nearthquakes are frequent.
