Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Pasar Rebo Police Sector (Polsek Pasar Rebo)\nthwarted an attempted motor vehicle theft (curanmor) carried out by two\nsuspects at the Gandaria petrol station, Jalan Raya Bogor, Pasar Rebo,\nEast Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The disclosure was based on police report LP\/B\/64\/IV\/2026\/SPKT\/Polsek\nPasar Rebo relating to the offence of attempted theft with aggravation\nunder Article 477 juncto 17 of Law Number 1 Year 2023 on the Criminal\nCode, according to Kapolsek Pasar Rebo AKP I Wayan Wijaya.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Thursday (9 April) at around 07.30 WIB at\nGandaria SPBU, Jalan Raya Bogor, East Jakarta. The victim is identified\nby initials AF (33), a man resident of Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung\nDistrict, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Wayan, the two suspects attempted to steal a black Honda\nVario motorcycle belonging to the victim by damaging the key cylinder\nwith a T-shaped key. However the act was spotted by a petrol station\nemployee on site.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe modus operandi was to take a black Vario motorcycle by damaging\nthe lock with a T-shaped key,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
When the theft was discovered, the witness, a petrol station\nemployee, yelled for help. The commotion panicked the suspects, who\nattempted to flee the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe witness\u2019s shout prompted the suspects to flee, but at that\nmoment a Criminal Investigation Unit patrol was nearby; they heard the\nshout and detained the two suspects,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
The two suspects in custody are identified as S (42), a resident of\nKramat Jati, East Jakarta, and R alias M (43), a resident of Bulakan\nvillage, Cinangka District, Serang Regency, Banten.<\/p>\n
From the suspects\u2019 possession, police recovered several pieces of\nevidence including one black Honda Vario motorcycle bearing police\nnumber A 6935 SJ used by the suspects, another black Honda Vario\nmotorcycle bearing police number B 4570 FDJ belonging to the victim, and\na T-shaped key used to damage the motor lock.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, when asked about the suspects\u2019 confession regarding the\nfrequency of similar thefts, police said both suspects claimed it was\ntheir first time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are told that it was a single act. We have interrogated them, but\nthey have maintained it was only one incident,\u201d Wayan said.<\/p>\n
For this offence, the two suspects are charged under Article 477\njuncto 17 of Law Number 1 Year 2023 on the Indonesian Penal Code for\nattempted theft with aggravation.<\/p>\n
