One of the youngest and
strongest bodies was selected for further examination—the 17-year-old
child,’ Anwar said during an interview at the Central Java Police
headquarters in Semarang on Friday, 29 May 2026.

The deceased are MAM (52), M (43), AEH (17), and BAH (21). Anwar
noted that evidence from the crime scene is being examined by the
Central Java Police’s Forensic Laboratory (Bidlabfor) team. ‘We await
the lab results. The current suspects are gas from the barbecue stove or
food poisoning. Investigators are waiting for toxicology results,’ he
said.

During the crime scene processing, police found a portable gas
cylinder inside the glamping tent. The barbecue meat consumed by the
family was not provided by the site management. ‘The food was brought by
the family themselves. The breakfast provided by the management remained
uneaten,’ Anwar added.

He confirmed coordination with the Bidlabfor team to expedite the
testing of the gas cylinder and food samples. ‘However, caution is
necessary as toxicology tests involve several procedural steps,’ he
said.
",
