The Ministry of Forestry has reported that two Sumatran tiger cubs\n(Panthera tigris sumatrae) first sighted in September 2025 are in good\ncondition, based on the latest monitoring in the Kerinci Seblat\nlandscape, West Sumatra.<\/p>\n
Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation at\nthe Ministry of Forestry, Satyawan Pudyatmoko, stated that the\nmonitoring results demonstrate the importance of sustainable management\nof conservation areas and buffer forests through synergy between the\ngovernment, communities, conservation partners, and other\nstakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery tiger cub that successfully grows and survives in the wild is\na hope for the future of Indonesian conservation,\u201d he said in a\nstatement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He explained that the camera trap footage of the two Sumatran tiger\ncubs serves as a positive indicator that the natural reproduction\nprocess of this endangered species is still ongoing. It also shows that\nthe habitat is still capable of supporting the survival of this key\nspecies.<\/p>\n
