Bawakaraeng<\/p>\n<p>MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: Two students of Hasanuddin University<br>\n(Unhas), located in the South Sulawesi provincial capital of<br>\nMakassar, were found dead on Monday on Mt. Bawakaraeng in Gowa<br>\nregency, some 11 kilometers south of here.<\/p>\n<p>The university&apos;s search and rescue team reported that the<br>\nvictims were mountaineers: Alawi Hasyimi Parukki, a geology<br>\nstudent, and Ikhsan, a social\/political science student.<\/p>\n<p>Two other mountaineers Daud and Wiwik survived the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Wiwik said the four went hiking last Friday but were caught in<br>\na rainstorm in the slopes of the mountain, some 2,000 meters<br>\nabove sea level.<\/p>\n<p>They decided to go down from the mountain, but the health of<br>\nAlawi and Ikhsan deteriorated sharply. Blood drifted out from<br>\ntheir mouth and noses.<\/p>\n<p>Daud decided to go down alone to seek for help on Sunday,<br>\nwhile Wiwik stayed to take care of the two students.<\/p>\n<p>SAR team found the three students on Monday morning, but the<br>\ntwo had already died. -- JP<\/p>",
