Two school students arrested for killing<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Police arrested two of four students from a
\nprivately run technical high school yesterday for the beating and
\nstabbing to death of a student from another private technical
\nsenior high school on Friday.<\/p>\n
Chief of the West Jakarta Police Detectives Capt. Ronie F.
\nSompie said one of the suspects, identified as Edi Suprapto, 20,
\nwas turned in by his parents to the Tambora police subprecinct
\nSunday night.<\/p>\n
\"We appreciated what was done by Edi's parents,\" Ronie said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the other suspect, Wahyudi, was picked up from his
\nhome on Jl. Kalianyar in West Jakarta yesterday. The student
\nadmitted only to having beaten the victim, Sularto. He said it
\nwas Edi who stabbed him to death.<\/p>\n
Edi previously said that he and his other three friends,
\nWahyudi, Engkus and Muharto, beat Sularto on Jl. Latumeten in
\nGrogol, West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
He finally admitted to stabbing the victim with a knife after
\nthe police showed him the knife believed to have been used in the
\nkilling.<\/p>\n
Ronie said that the police will soon arrest the remaining two
\nstudents, Engkos and Muharto.<\/p>\n
\"They are in hiding with the help of their parents. But we
\nhave identified their whereabouts,\" he said.<\/p>\n
At least three students died in brawls in West Jakarta,
\nCentral Jakarta and North Jakarta last week, including Sularto.<\/p>\n
Bachtiar Effendi, a student from a technical senior high
\nschool, was stabbed to death by one of three students from a
\nprivate senior high school on Jl. Kramat Raya in Central Jakarta
\non Tuesday evening. The death of Bachtiar prompted a riot on the
\nfollowing day, when hundreds of his friends ran amok, assaulting
\npassers-by on the street in front of the Central Jakarta police
\nprecinct.<\/p>\n
Also on Friday, Jamot, a student of a technical senior high
\nschool, was killed in a brawl involving students of a senior high
\nschool on Jl. Jembatan Tiga, Penjaringan district in North
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
All the alleged killers are still at large.<\/p>\n
At least 12 students died in separate brawls in the past six
