Two RI's workers killed in KL fire<\/p>\n
MALAYSIA: Two Indonesian workers were killed in a fire that
\nsparked a stampede at a construction site near Kuala Lumpur's
\nmain railway station, news reports said Saturday.<\/p>\n
More than 1,000 construction workers were forced to run for
\nsafety when the blaze broke out Friday morning at the site, where
\ntwo large Malaysian hotels are being built, The Star newspaper
\nreported.<\/p>\n
Firefighters took three hours to douse the blaze. Police
\nclosed roads leading to the Kuala Lumpur Central railway station,
\ncausing massive traffic jams, The Star said.<\/p>\n
The charred remains of the two Indonesians were discovered
\nnear each other, pinned under smouldering debris and embers.
\nTheir identities could not immediately be established.<\/p>\n
Several workers lost consciousness after inhaling too much
\nsmoke and were rushed to a hospital.<\/p>\n
Police believe that faulty wiring might have triggered the
\nfire, which was fed by planks and beams scattered across the
\nsite.<\/p>",
