        "content": "<p>Two rebels get 24 years<\/p>\n<p>BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Two activists of an obscure Moslem sect have<br>\nbeen sentenced to imprisonment for 15 years and nine years,<br>\nrespectively, for supporting a rebel movement which aims to turn<br>\nAceh into an Islamic state.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday a team of judges in the Lhokseumawe district court<br>\nfound M. Amin Samidan, alias Amin Panga, 52, and Syamsul Bahri<br>\nbin Mahammad, 19, guilty of supporting the Free Aceh Movement<br>\nlast year.<\/p>\n<p>Amin was sentenced to 15 years, and Syamsul nine years, in<br>\njail. The judges said the men had undermined the legitimate<br>\ngovernment and the 1945 constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors had sought a sentence of 18 years imprisonment for<br>\neach of the defendants, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>Amin was the driver of Teuku Bantaqiah, the leader of the sect<br>\nwho has already been jailed.
