Two Poso men released, no link to terror bomb found<\/p>\n

The two men arrested on suspicion of involvement in the Pasar
\nSentral bomb attack in Poso, Central Sulawesi on Nov. 13 were
\nreleased on Friday night as police investigators cited a lack of
\nevidence to link them with the fatal attack.<\/p>\n
Poso police chief Adj. Comr. Abdi Dharma Sitepu told The
\nJakarta Post on Saturday evening that the two, identified only by
\ntheir initials, N, 26, and K, 24, were released at around 11 p.m.
\nFriday evening.<\/p>\n
Central Sulawesi police chief Brig. Gen. Aryanto Sutadi,
\nhowever, said on Saturday evening that he was not aware of the
\nrelease of the two.<\/p>\n
\"I have no knowledge about the latest developments of (their
\ninvestigation),\" Aryanto told Antara.<\/p>\n
At least six persons were killed and three others injured when
\na bomb exploded in a public minivan near Poso's Pasar Sentral
\nlast Saturday, less than two weeks after a minibus driver was
\nshot dead and a Christian village chief was beheaded.<\/p>\n
Poso police arrested N and K at their homes in Poso Kota
\ndistrict without any resistance early on Friday morning. They
\nalso said that they were still searching for another possible
\nsuspect identified as \"I\".<\/p>\n
N is the son of a former legislator, and his parents had
\ninsisted that N, a university student, was sleeping when the bomb
\nexploded.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, police in Central Sulawesi began on Saturday a
\nmassive search for firearms and explosives in Palu, Donggala
\nand Poso.<\/p>\n
With rifles at the ready, police searched every house and
\nstopped motorists in the three areas, where intermittent
\nreligious conflicts have killed thousands of civilians since
\n2000.<\/p>\n
According to Antara the raids were conducted by joint teams of
\npolice and intelligence agents, with backing from 400 Army
\nsoldiers.<\/p>\n
\"This is a preventive effort to reduce the violence in the
\nprovince as ... religious violence continues to claim innocent
\nlives,\" Central Sulawesi police spokesman Adj. Comr. Sr. Rais
\nAdam was quoted by Antara as saying.<\/p>\n
He said police set no deadline to end random raids for arms
\nand explosives across the province.<\/p>\n
\"We have called on the people repeatedly to give up their
\nweapons, so we will not hesitate to punish them if they still
\nhave weapons,\" Rais said.<\/p>",
