        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The latest updates regarding two Indonesian-owned\nships belonging to Pertamina that are still held up while attempting to\ncross the Strait of Hormuz have been provided by Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of\nForeign Affairs (Kemenlu).<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson for Kemenlu, Yvonne Mewengkang, stated that there is now\na glimmer of hope regarding transit permissions for the two ships, as\nthe Iranian government has given positive signals on the matter. Yvonne\neven mentioned that the two Pertamina ships are currently preparing to\ncross the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on coordination between Kemenlu and the Indonesian Embassy in\nTehran with Pertamina, the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta, and relevant\nIranian parties in Tehran, the Iranian Embassy has conveyed the positive\nconsideration of the Iranian government regarding the security of the\npassage of ships owned by the Pertamina Group through the Strait of\nHormuz,\u201d said Yvonne in a statement, quoted on Monday, 30 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>She assured that Kemenlu and the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran will\ncontinue to coordinate with all parties to ensure the safe passage of\nPertamina\u2019s ships through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has\nbegun preparing the technical aspects for crossing the strait, which has\nbeen closed by Iran amid their war against the United States (US), which\nis allied with Israel.<\/p>\n<p>In its statement on Sunday, 29 March 2026, Acting Corporate Secretary\nof PIS, Vega Pita, confirmed that the company is also continuing to\ncoordinate with Kemenlu to prepare the technicalities for the passage\nthrough the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the two Pertamina ships, Pride and Gamsunoro, are still in\nthe Arabian Gulf or Persian Gulf.
