Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police officers apprehended a suspect in the theft\nof two motorcycles following an incident on Jalan dr. Susilo Raya,\nGrogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur operations team successfully secured two motorcycles and one\nsuspect with the initials S, a 31-year-old male whose role was as the\ngetaway rider,\u201d said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit\nReskrim) of Grogol Petamburan Police, AKP Alexander Tengbunan, speaking\nto reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In the theft, which occurred on Thursday (12 February), suspect S was\nresponsible for transporting the stolen motorcycles to the Banten area.\nThe motorcycles were stolen by his accomplice, who remains at large and\nhas been placed on the wanted persons list.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe managed to apprehend the suspect (S) in the Banten area,\nspecifically in Cilegon,\u201d Alex said.<\/p>\n
According to Alex, the victim\u2019s motorcycle had been parked in front\nof the Post Office on Jalan dr. Susilo Raya.<\/p>\n
The suspect identified as H (the perpetrator) then surveilled the\nmotorcycle. After spotting an opportunity and seeing no witnesses in the\nvicinity, the perpetrator broke into the motorcycle using a T-shaped\nkey.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe damaged the victim\u2019s motorcycle, then immediately rode it away to\nBanten,\u201d Alex explained.<\/p>\n
After stealing the victim\u2019s motorcycle, suspect H promptly instructed\nsuspect S to transport the stolen goods to Banten.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the victim, upon realising the vehicle had gone missing,\nimmediately reported the incident to police.<\/p>\n
After receiving the report, officers launched an investigation and\narrested the suspect in Banten on Friday (13 February).<\/p>\n
Upon examination, the suspect, who works as a labourer, admitted to\ninvolvement in the theft due to economic pressures. \u201cThe suspect\u2019s\nmotive was economic \u2014 he was in desperate need of money,\u201d Alex said.<\/p>\n
