Two more commit suicide by drinking insecticide<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An 18-year-old student and a 39-year-old woman
\nhave committed suicide by drinking insecticide, raising the
\nnumber of suicides to 47 over the past four months.<\/p>\n
Nuraini, a student from private vocational high school SMEA
\nBudi Kemuliaan on Jl. Mangga Besar Raya in West Jakarta, was
\nfound dead in her bedroom at a boarding house on Jl. Mangga Besar
\nXIII, Central Jakarta, yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
Her nose was stuffed with cotton and a can of insecticide was
\nfound beside her.<\/p>\n
The house's landlady, Ratna, said she found Nuraini's body
\nafter her boyfriend, Feby, 18, urged her to open Nuraini's
\nbedroom door.<\/p>\n
\"Feby asked me to open Nuraini's bedroom door because she did
\nnot show up that morning,\" she said.<\/p>\n
Police questioned Feby, who studied at the same school with
\nNuraini, at the Central Jakarta Precinct. He said he did not know
\nany clear reason for Nuraini to kill herself.<\/p>\n
\"We had a big quarrel the night before she committed suicide.
\nShe threatened to kill herself when I told her during the dispute
\nthat I was going to leave her,\" Feby was quoted by the police as
\nsaying.<\/p>\n
Feby said that they were disputing over \"trivial\" matters but
\ndid not give details.<\/p>\n
Nuraini previously lived in Tangerang's Kotabumi area with her
\nparents. She moved to the boarding house to be closer to school.<\/p>\n
Nuraini's body was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo General
\nHospital for a postmortem examination.<\/p>\n
Een Sulaimi committed suicide Wednesday at her house on Jl.
\nGandaria, Kebayoran Lama in South Jakarta, using the same
\ntechnique.<\/p>\n
City Police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said yesterday
\nthat police were still investigating the motive behind Een's
\nsuicide.<\/p>\n
\"Her family still has no idea about the motive behind Een's
\nsuicide. They admitted that she liked daydreaming and was having
\nfinancial difficulties,\" Aritonang said without elaborating.<\/p>\n
\"We're checking for other motives related to the mental state
\nof the victims,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The number of people that have committed suicide this year
\nmore than doubles the last year's number over the corresponding
