Police have arrested two men who affixed barcodes containing links to\nonline gambling websites at a coffee shop in Pesanggrahan, South\nJakarta. The pair were apprehended after their actions went viral on\nsocial media.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, they have been arrested,\u201d Pesanggrahan Police Chief Kompol\nSeala Syah Alam told reporters on Wednesday (18\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
Seala said his team is still questioning the two suspects. He\nbelieves the perpetrators did not act alone but are part of a wider\nnetwork.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are developing the investigation down to the roots so that there\nare no further victims,\u201d Seala said.<\/p>\n
A video recording narrating the actions of the two men sticking\nbarcodes in the Pesanggrahan area of South Jakarta had previously gone\nviral on social media. The barcodes were reportedly linked to online\ngambling websites.<\/p>\n
In the circulating footage, one of the men can be seen making a\ngesture of sticking something onto a table at the front of the coffee\nshop.<\/p>\n
Shortly afterwards, the same man also affixed something to two\nmotorbikes parked nearby, placing the items on the front section of the\nvehicles. The objects were said to be barcodes.<\/p>\n
After affixing the suspected barcodes, the man then approached\nanother man who appeared to be sitting and waiting on a motorbike near\nthe location. The two then promptly left the scene.<\/p>\n
The final portion of the video showed that the objects affixed by the\nman were indeed barcodes.
