        "content": "<p>Two Wings Air flights on the Kupang\u2013Ende route were cancelled after a\nmagnitude 7.7 earthquake shook the Flores Sea on Saturday morning\n(15\/8). General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at El Tari\nInternational Airport Kupang, Teguh Darmawan Saiman, said the\ncancellations were made after the airport and the airline coordinated\nregarding operational conditions and flight safety aspects.<\/p>\n<p>The two affected flights were Wings Air flight numbers IW 1831 and IW\n1957. A total of 126 passengers were impacted by the cancellations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision to cancel flights is the authority of the airline,\ntaking into account operational conditions as well as flight safety and\nsecurity aspects,\u201d Teguh said in a written statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Teguh said Wings Air would provide ticket refunds to all passengers\naffected by the cancellations.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, El Tari International Airport Kupang is confirmed to be\noperating normally. Facilities, main equipment and operational support\nat the airport were not affected by the earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Ende, the airport is still coordinating regarding the\noperational conditions of several destination airports, including Ruteng\nand Bajawa. The destination airports of Larantuka, Lembata, Tambolaka,\nAlor, Maumere and Labuan Bajo are confirmed to still be operating\nnormally.<\/p>\n<p>He said PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia continues to monitor flight\nconditions and coordinate with BMKG, airlines and relevant stakeholders\nto ensure flight safety and security following the earthquake.<\/p>",
