Two killed in Aceh violence<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: The latest incidence of armed violence in
\nAceh has claimed the lives of four people, one of them a soldier,
\nand left at least two others injured, officials said on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The security forces also renewed their plea for people to
\nignore a call by the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) to hold a strike
\nbetween January 16 and 18.<\/p>\n
\"We will protect the people and they are all advised to go on
\nwith their normal daily activities. We are ready to escort people
\nif necessary,\" Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Agus Dwiyanto
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
A member of the Indonesian Military (TNI), Pvt. Sunaryo, and a
\nGAM fighter were killed in an armed skirmish at Ulee village in
\nthe Peusangan district of Bireun regency, some 210 kilometers
\neast of Banda Aceh on Saturday, TNI spokesman Maj. Zaenal Mutaqin
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
In East Aceh, Rosmiati Kamal, the wife of the Darul Amman
\npolice chief, was found dead with severe head injuries in the
\ncouple's house at Teupin Batee village in the Idi Rayek district
\non Saturday.<\/p>\n
Her death occurred when the police officer, Hasyim Ibrahim,
\nwas at work, East Aceh Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Gaguk
\nSumartono said.<\/p>\n
In Aceh Besar regency on Saturday, an unidentified male corpse
\nwas found in Cot Kabeu village in Indrapuri district. The body
\nhas been taken to Zaenal Abidin General Hospital. A staff member
\nat the hospital said the victim had sustained a stab wound to the
