Two killed at fish market<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A fisherman and his nephew were attacked and
\nkilled by about 20 people at the Muara Angke fish market in North
\nJakarta early yesterday.<\/p>\n
Usman, 36, and his nephew Alang, 30, of Penjaringan district
\nhad suffered severe wounds and almost all of their fingers were
\nmissing.<\/p>\n
A forensic staffer of Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital said
\ndifferent types of sharp weapons and blunt objects had been used
\nin the attack.<\/p>\n
\"We've found fragments of glass... wood and bricks in their
\nwounds,\" forensic expert Bambang H.P. said.<\/p>\n
As of last night, police had not commented on the killing but
\na relative of the victims quoted a police source as saying that
\nthe men were attacked after a small dispute between the victims
\nand an unidentified fisherman.<\/p>\n
The clash took place about 1 a.m. but nobody knew what the
\ndispute was about, Arpan, who identified himself as Alang's
\nfather, said.<\/p>\n
\"There were about 20 people opposing the victims,\" he quoted a
\npolice source as saying.<\/p>\n
The angry mob stopped only after the victims were laying on
\nthe street and local police officers passed by.<\/p>\n
Arpan, 54, who is Usman's brother, could shed little light on
\nthe dispute.<\/p>\n
\"Police told me that the incident was believed to have been
\nsparked by a competition and business matters between them,
\nnothing personal,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Arpan admitted that his younger brother had once been jailed
\nin North Sumatra for pick pocketing. (04)<\/p>",
