At least two people, one of whom is believed to be a student at\nPadang State University (UNP), became victims of suspected stray bullets\non Tuesday (2\/5). The victims were immediately rushed to Hermina\nHospital Padang for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
There has been no official statement regarding the perpetrator\nresponsible for the shots that hit the student. However, the UNP campus\nadministration has confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is true that a UNP student was allegedly hit by stray bullets,\u201d\nsaid the Secretary of UNPS, Erianjoni, to reporters.<\/p>\n
Observations at the scene indicated that the area surrounding UNP is\ncurrently under heavy guard by authorities. Tight security was also\nobserved at Hermina Hospital Padang.<\/p>\n
Erianjoni noted that the two people shot were a student and a member\nof the student\u2019s family. The student victim is from the Sociology\ndepartment.<\/p>\n
\u201cA sociology student and another victim, who is a family member of\nthe student waiting there, were hit,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Erianjoni stated that the suspected stray bullet incident occurred in\nthe afternoon near the Rectorate area after students were celebrating\nthe results of their proposal seminar examinations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe students had just finished their Proposal Seminar exams and were\ncelebrating joyfully with their peers. Then, they were hit by stray\nbullets. The student is female.
