        "content": "<p>The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) has confirmed\nthat two international flights from Indonesia to the United Arab\nEmirates experienced landing diversions. This action was taken following\nthe closure of UAE airspace due to an incident involving unmanned\naircraft (drone) debris falling across several areas of the country on\nMonday, 16 March.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director of Indonesian Citizen Protection at the Foreign\nMinistry, Heni Hamidah, explained that there were hundreds of Indonesian\npassengers aboard the two Emirates airline flights.<\/p>\n<p>Reports from the Indonesian representative in the UAE indicated that\ndrone debris was found at several locations in the Dubai area, including\nareas adjacent to Dubai International Airport. The incident briefly\ncaused a fire at a fuel tank near the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) took preventive\nmeasures by temporarily closing airspace and suspending operations at\nDubai International Airport. In addition to Dubai, drone debris was also\nreported to have fallen in the Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain regions.<\/p>\n<p>Heni Hamidah emphasised that, to date, there have been no reports of\nIndonesian nationals being harmed in the drone debris incident. The\nForeign Ministry, through its representatives in the UAE, continues to\nconduct intensive coordination with local authorities and airline\nofficials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, there are no reports of Indonesian nationals who have become\nvictims or requested assistance regarding the incident,\u201d Heni stated in\nher written statement.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the latest reports from news agency WAM on Tuesday, 17\nMarch, the GCAA reopened UAE airspace after the situation was deemed to\nhave improved and was safe for civil aviation operations.
