        "content": "<p>A magnitude 6.7 earthquake that shook Central Sulawesi on Tuesday\n(16\/6) left eight residents of Sigi Regency injured. As of now,\nauthorities have confirmed no reports of fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest data from the Palu Search and Rescue Office\n(Basarnas) as of 13:30 Central Indonesia Time, two of the eight victims\nsustained serious injuries. Both victims are residents of Kamarora\nVillage, Nokilalaki District, who suffered fractures and head injuries\nafter being struck by falling rubble.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the six other victims were reported to have minor\ninjuries, comprising three residents from Nokilalaki District, two from\nPalolo District, and one from Sigi District.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll injured victims have now been evacuated and are undergoing\nintensive treatment at Torabelo Palolo Hospital in Sigi Regency,\u201d said\nHead of Basarnas Palu, Muh Rizal.<\/p>\n<p>Rizal added that his team continues to coordinate with the Regional\nDisaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Indonesian National Armed Forces\n(TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and local agencies to\nupdate damage impact data in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics\nAgency (BMKG), the epicentre of the shallow 10-kilometre-deep land\nearthquake was located 42 kilometres southeast of Palu City (1.04 South\nLatitude and 120.23 East Longitude) and was declared not to have tsunami\npotential.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the strong tremors felt in Palu, Sigi, Parigi Moutong,\nPoso, and Tojo Una-Una triggered mass panic, with residents rushing out\nof buildings.<\/p>\n<p>As of 13:30 Central Indonesia Time, BMKG had recorded 21 aftershocks.\nIn response to the situation, Basarnas Palu remains on full alert with\npersonnel and rescue fleets to anticipate any further emergency\nstatus.<\/p>",
