The trial of the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus resumed\nat Military Court II-08 in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In the\nhearing, the military prosecutor presented two doctors who treated\nAndrie as expert witnesses.<\/p>\n
Four Indonesian Army soldiers are defendants: Staff Sergeant Edi\nSudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi\nPrasetyo, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka.<\/p>\n
The two doctors were Plastic Surgery Specialist Parintosa Atmodiwirjo\nand Ophthalmology Specialist Faraby Martha. Both were sworn in before\ngiving evidence to the panel of judges.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat kind of doctors?\u201d asked the presiding judge Colonel Chk Fredy\nFerdian Isnartanto during the hearing.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlastic surgery and eye specialists,\u201d replied the military\nprosecutor.<\/p>\n
Parintosa is known to be the head of the medical team caring for\nAndrie Yunus since 13 March 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll present?\u201d asked the judge.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresent,\u201d replied the prosecutor.<\/p>\n
After the expert examination, the court will proceed with reading the\nindictment against the four defendants.<\/p>\n
Previously, the military prosecutor charged the defendants with\ncarrying out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus because they were unhappy\nwith the activist\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n
The indictment states that the defendants first learned of Andrie\nwhen the KontraS activist disrupted a meeting on the revision of the TNI\nLaw at the Fairmont Hotel, South Jakarta, on 16 March 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith that incident, the defendants held that Andrie Yunus had\ninsulted the TNI institution, even trampling on the TNI,\u201d the prosecutor\nsaid as he read the indictment.<\/p>\n
The defendants are said to have subsequently sought information about\nAndrie\u2019s activities and divided roles before carrying out the acid\nattack.<\/p>\n
For their actions, the four defendants are charged with violating\nArticle 469(1) read together with Article 468(1) and Article 467(1) in\nconjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 Year 2023\nconcerning the Indonesian Penal Code. (Z-2)<\/p>\n

Defendant Corporal Edi Sudarko said the acid attack on Andrie Yunus\nwas triggered by the victim\u2019s act perceived as overacting during the\nmeeting on the TNI Bill.<\/p>\n
RSCM said the condition of KontraS activist Andrie Yunus continued to\nimprove after follow-up surgeries due to the acid attack; the victim\u2019s\nactivities remain restricted for optimal recovery.<\/p>\n
