        "content": "<p>For Rosidah, 50, brown sugar is not just a commodity, but a life\njourney. Since 2006, she has been developing a traditional Madurese\nbrown sugar business, utilising sap from the siwalan or lontar palm\ntrees that grow abundantly in Sumenep.<\/p>\n<p>The early days of her venture were far from smooth. She faced\nnumerous limitations, from very traditional production equipment to a\nlack of capital. However, her determination never wavered.\n\u2018Alhamdulillah, over time, the quality of my brown sugar began to\nattract consumers. Orders started coming in,\u2019 she said, noting that her\ncustomer network gradually expanded to various regions.<\/p>\n<p>A significant leap in the scale of her business occurred in 2016.\nRealising that the surging market demand could not be met without a\nsubstantial injection of working capital, Rosidah decided to apply for a\nPeople\u2019s Business Credit (KUR) at BRI\u2019s Pragaan Unit. \u2018I had been a BRI\ncustomer for a long time, but it was only in 2016 that I dared to apply\nfor a KUR loan. The process was fast and the BRI team was very\nresponsive. I chose KUR because, besides the low interest, it requires\nno collateral. So it is suitable for a small business like mine,\u2019 she\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>This step proved to be a vital stimulus for her business. The fresh\nfunds from the bank were immediately allocated to strengthen the\navailability of raw materials in her kitchen. The first three years\nafter becoming a KUR BRI customer went very smoothly, with her business\nturnover accelerating. After repaying her first loan with a clean\ncommitment record, Rosidah again trusted BRI for her business\ndevelopment, applying for a second loan with a higher nominal value of\nIDR 50 million.<\/p>",
