Two-day closure for entertainment spots<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration announced on Wednesday
\nthat most entertainment centers in the city would be required to
\nclose up shop for two days ahead of Idul Adha (the Islamic Day of
\nSacrifice), which falls on Friday.<\/p>\n
"In line with Gubernatorial Decree 98\/2004 on the tourism
\nindustry in Jakarta, night clubs, discotheques, bars, massage
\nparlors and steam baths must stop their operations for two days
\nbefore and during the festival," said city spokesman Catur
\nLaswanto.<\/p>\n
Entertainment spots located on hotel premises, however, would
\nstill be allowed to open, he said.<\/p>\n
He revealed that officers from the Jakarta Public Order Agency
\nand Jakarta Tourism Agency would monitor compliance with the
\ndecree.<\/p>\n
"Should these centers violate the decree, we may impose
\nsanctions on them, including mandatory closure," he said. -- JP<\/p>",
