        "content": "<p>Two children were found dead after being trapped in a fire that raked\nthrough their home in Budi Aji Village, Simpang Pematang District,\nMesuji Regency, Lampung. The fire is suspected to have been triggered by\nan electrical short circuit.<\/p>\n<p>The fire occurred in the early hours of Sunday (30\/08\/2026). The\nMesuji Regency Fire, Rescue, and Disaster Management (Damkarmat)\nDepartment received the report at 02:44 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Mesuji Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP),\nRonal, stated that the fire report was submitted by the Head of Budi Aji\nVillage, Nurul, via the 112 Call Centre service. Personnel from\nDamkarmat Squad C, alongside the BPBD team, immediately proceeded to the\nlocation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as we received the report, we deployed personnel to the site\nto carry out firefighting and fire management,\u201d said Ronal.<\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived at the scene at 03:01 WIB. During the firefighting\nprocess, officers received information that children were still inside\nthe building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received information that children were trapped inside the house\nbecause they had been left by both of their parents. The team then\ncarried out an evacuation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>During the evacuation process, officers discovered two victims who\nhad passed away. Both victims were one male and one female.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were two fatalities, one male and one female. Both have been\nevacuated by the officers,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The firefighting and cooling process lasted approximately three hours\nand utilised three water tanks. Officers stated that the situation at\nthe location was safe and under control by around 06:00 WIB.<\/p>",
