        "content": "<p>Two bodies oppose regional games<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Two national sports organizations voiced their<br>\nopposition yesterday to a plan to treat the Nusa Tenggara<br>\nregional games as one of the qualifying rounds for the 1996<br>\nNational Games (PON).<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the Indonesian Taekwondo Association said<br>\nthat the standards of taekwondo competition at the regional games<br>\nmight be lower than other PON qualifying events. West Nusa<br>\nTenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali and East Timor are the only<br>\nprovinces to have joined the regional games.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the Indonesian Tennis Association<br>\nrejected the newly-introduced PON qualification system because it<br>\nis contrary to the current system, which selects players based on<br>\nan existing national ranking system.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the objections, Arie Sudewo, KONI's deputy chairman,<br>\nsaid that the show must go on sometime in March next year.
