Two Australians deported<\/p>\n
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: The immigration office in the East
\nNusa Tenggara capital of Kupang has reportedly deported two
\nAustralians -- Paul McCarthy and John Kevin Enis -- for violating
\nimmigration regulations.<\/p>\n
\"We have marked the passports of the two Australians with red
\nink. They have political objectives, so we have to deport them.
\nThey have also overstayed their visa,\" said the acting head of
\nthe Kupang Immigration office, Immanuel Pulungan, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Immanuel further accused McCarthy of inciting East Timorese
\nrefugees staying in the city to stage demonstrations in front of
\nthe immigration office recently.<\/p>\n
Another immigration official, Surya Pranata, said McCarthy had
\nproposed an extension of their temporary stay permits to
\nprovincial governor Piet A. Tallo, but the proposal was turned
\ndown.<\/p>\n
\"Before the governor issued his recommendation (to refuse the
\npermit extension), McCarthy mobilized East Timorese refugees to
\nterrorize us. He urged them to press us to extend their visas,\"
\nsaid Immanuel.<\/p>\n
Surya said that apart from violating an immigration
\nregulation, Enis had also tried to encourage some 30 East
