'TVRI' under investigation<\/p>\n
SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Prosecutors are investigating the
\nalleged embezzlement of Rp 1.7 billion (US$188,888) of East
\nKalimantan's TVRI television station's 2003-2004 operational
\nfunds.<\/p>\n
The investigation is based on a report from TVRI employees
\ndated April 7, citing the misappropriation of financial
\nassistance from provincial and regental\/municipal
\nadministrations.<\/p>\n
\"The prosecutors have already called in the related officials
\nfor questioning,\" said East Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office public
\nrelations manager Sjachronie.<\/p>\n
Head of East Kalimantan TVRI Asmuny S. Noor confirmed the
\nquestioning but said it was simply to confirm the report.
\nHowever, he regretted the matter had been handed over to the
\nprosecutor's office rather than being solved internally.<\/p>\n
\"But it's the right of unsatisfied workers (to report) their
\nsuperiors,\" he said. \"Actually, there's no problem because the
\nexpenditure of the financial assistance was managed internally
\nand reported to the administrations. But since the case is
\nalready at the prosecutor's office, we're ready to be
