TV drama on founding fathers<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Bung Karno Foundation (YBK), in cooperation with
\nthe Esthetics Science and Technology (SET) Foundation, which is
\nled by noted film director Garin Nugroho, will produce sinetron
\n(teleseries) on the country's founding fathers.<\/p>\n
YBK chairman Guruh Soekarnoputra said over the weekend that
\nthe was plan aimed at preserving and developing the values of the
\nfounding fathers so that they would become guidelines for future
\ngenerations.<\/p>\n
\"The values, ideals and commitment of the founders of
\nIndonesia in fighting for independence, peace and national unity
\nhave to be passed on from one generation to the next,\" Guruh was
\nquoted by Antara as saying on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, film director Garin Nugroho said 13 episodes would
\ninitially be produced involving noted actress and actors to
\nattract young people.<\/p>\n
\"The TV series is expected to arouse the interest of the
\nyounger generation,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Initially the foundation will produce sinetron on the lives of
\nSukarno, Mohammad Hatta and Sjahrir, with a duration of between
\n42 and 45 minutes.<\/p>\n
Actors involved in the series include Anjasmara as Sukarno and
\nDavid Chalik as Hatta.<\/p>\n
Guruh, a son of Sukarno, said he expected to start
