        "content": "<p>Ankara (ANTARA) - Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said on Sunday\n(6\/9) that his country plans to increase its defence spending by 229 per\ncent over the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the defence industry sector, we are striving to build a T\u00fcrkiye\nthat is capable of developing its own technology and generating high\nadded value,\u201d Yilmaz said at a press conference presenting the country\u2019s\nthree-year Medium-Term Economic Programme for the 2027-2029 period.<\/p>\n<p>Under the programme, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s economic growth projection for 2026\nhas been revised down from 3.8 per cent to 3.3 per cent, whilst the\ncountry\u2019s inflation forecast has been raised from 16 per cent to 28.4\nper cent.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute,\nthe country\u2019s military spending reached US$30 billion (US$1 = Rp17,636)\nin 2025.<\/p>",
